CometSound supports various audio file formats and is also able to let the user manage playlists.
It also supports tags.
Main features:
- collects and shows only the audio files (mp3, wma, ogg, flac, m4a, mp4, aac (requires gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad), wav, ape, mpc, wv) of a given folder recursively
- allows the user to easily create, save and shuffle playlists
- uses Gstreamer multimedia framework, and a GTK+ user interface
- supports tags
- supports English, Italian, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, French and Slovak languages
- allows track search by tag
- can be minimized and controlled through tray icon
- gapless playback
- notifications through pynotify
- media keys support (for Gnome users)
